I think the daily dispatch was right by posting the picture of a dead bay in a bucket. Personally this picture evokes a lot of emotions and it was heart breaking to see this innocent life being left for dead and it’s life taken away so gruesomely. As a journalist Its our duty to inform the public and to make the public aware of the harsh realities and what really goes on in the world out there. Yes the posting of the picture caused controversy and I do understand that the this picture is obscene and some viewers may find it offensive but it’s our duty as journalists to make people aware of what’s happening out there, just think about it would the story be effective as it is without the picture? The front page is supposed to attract the viewers or consumers eye, because at the end of the day newspapers work on the basis of rates and revenue, so I understand why the daily dispatch posted as their front page , so in my view I think they were right by posting this picture.
